After all the hoopla surrounding World of Warcraft’s new expansion, i got to talk to one of my friends who plays WoW and Asian made MMO’s. You know what i heard? “I’d rather play World of Warcraft than another Asian MMO”. or something to that effect. And that made me say “I’m actually reactivating my account now, lets gather up some friends and go play WoW!”
I have been quoted as saying that once you have actually played WoW, everything else pales in comparison. That still holds true today. Say what you will about Everquest 2, Lineage 2, City of Heroes and other big name MMOs, nothing compares to World of Warcraft. Yet. More >

It’s finally here! After months of planning, IAHGames has launched the EA SPORTS FIFA Online 2 Closed Beta Test on 18 September 2008. Soccer fans in the SEA regions can celebrate the chance to enjoy the world’s most popular football game for free.
FIFA Online 2 enables players to chat, connect and challenge one another using their own custom teams to earn experience points, items and reputation. It’s the first time a licensed football game with custom teams is made available for persistent online play. Winners will earn rewards such as energy drinks, medical kits, and uniform cards, which allow them to heal, refresh, and add new players to their team. Unwanted players can be bought and sold between players, creating a complete and living football community that never sleeps.
The game has already been made available for free download at the official website:www.EASPORTSFIFAONLINE2.com.
To promote the free trial and coming full release, IAHGames will launch a new ‘Play with Freedom’ campaign. The ads encourage gamers to enjoy the benefits of having a top flight online football game available for free, and the endless possibilities of a football world in which they have complete control over their roster, the team they play, and the actions of their players.

It looks like Nintendo of America is soooo busy doing PR’s for Wii Fit and Super Smash Brawl that it has forgotten one of the games that gave hope to the Gamecube (not that it had enough, but thats another story). I talked about how Nintendo moved away from catering to the hardcore gamers, and now IGN itself has posted an editorial on how Nintendo has treated Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
Here are snippets from IGN’s editorial about how Nintendo has failed to market one of its biggest franchises to the hardcore gamer. More >

Anybody else see those awesome Assassin’s Creed gameplay videos at E3? No, not the ones with hottie dev Jade Reynolds, but the ones where protagonist Altair moves throughout 12th century Jerusalem. First Altair dives off a building onto a haystack, then casually walks with citizens. He deftly avoids a barricade by throwing a soldier off a roof to set off a distraction and uses an overarching beam to hang on and flip himself to the other side of the barricade. People also notice you while you walk and move, like when you start to climb a building. You can hear them saying “What is he doing?” or “he’s trying to get himself killed”. A new kind of AI or just longer code? More >

I’m currently somewhere in Outland. Sandwiched between some Burning Legion ramparts and Hellfire Citadel, i needed a couple of minutes to get used to the controls, my keyboard abilty layout and my new UI courtesy of the latest WoW UI mods available. After a few practice kills (and a couple of quests done), i have mastered the controls again and been zipping across Outland on my flying mount.
Yes, I’m back in World of Warcraft and it does feel like home. More >
